BUDGET 2023: Vote on Second Reading today


The debate on the Second Reading of Budget 2023 commenced in the Parliament today (22).

President Ranil Wickremesinghe, as the Minister of Finance, presented the 2023 Budget to Parliament on November 14.

Accordingly, the debate on the Second Reading commenced on November 15.

Parliament Sittings commenced today (22) at 09.30 a.m. and from 09.30 a.m. to 5.00 p.m. the Second Reading debate on Budget 2023 (Seventh Allotted Day) will be held.

Accordingly, the Vote on the Second Reading is scheduled to be held at 5.00 p.m.

Following that, the debate on the Third Reading of the Budget is expected to start from tomorrow (23) and it will continue until December 8. Following the Committee Stage debate until December 8, a vote shall be taken.
