‘Mandous’ likely to move away from SL coasts tonight

The Severe Cyclonic storm “Mandous” lay centered over Southwest Bay of Bengal is very likely to move west-northwestwards and cross North Tamil-Nadu, Puducherry and South Andhra Pradesh coast around mid-night today (09), according to the Department of Meteorology.

Heavy showers or thundershowers and very rough to high seas can be expected in

aforementioned sea areas, Department of Meteorology said.

However, Naval and fishing communities are advised not to venture into the deep and shallow

sea areas off the coast extending from Mannar to Pottuvil via Kankasanturai, Trincomalee & Batticaloa and Southwest Bay of Bengal and Southern Sea areas until further notice.
