Justice Minister Harshana Nanayakkara announced in Parliament today (04) that three significant bills aimed at enhancing the recovery of stolen assets will be introduced in the coming quarter.
Addressing Parliament this morning, the Minister outlined plans to present amendments to the Proceeds of Crime Bill, Rescue, Rehabilitation and Insolvency Bill and the amendments to the Audit Bill.
“These legislative measures are critical to strengthening the legal framework for tracking, recovering, and managing stolen or misappropriated assets,” Minister Nanayakkara stated.
The proposed bills are part of the government’s broader commitment to uphold accountability, enhance financial transparency, and ensure justice for victims of financial crimes. Further details on the amendments are expected to be shared during their presentation in Parliament.
