The final day (17) of President Anura Kumara Disanayake’s four-day state visit to China features a series of high-profile engagements in the Chengdu region.
The President’s agenda includes visits to leading electronics manufacturing industries, aimed at exploring opportunities for technological collaboration. He will also tour a model village that highlights effective poverty eradication strategies, reflecting China’s initiatives in rural development.
This afternoon, President Disanayake is scheduled to meet Wang Xiaohui, Secretary of the Communist Party of China for Sichuan Province, to discuss bilateral relations and regional cooperation. Later in the day, the President will visit the National Centre for Science, Technology and Agriculture to gain insights into China’s advancements in these fields.
Accompanying the President are the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Foreign Employment, and Tourism, Vijitha Herath, and the Minister of Transport, Highways, Ports, and Civil Aviation, Bimal Rathnayake.
This state visit, which has included discussions on strengthening ties and collaboration between Sri Lanka and China, underscores the commitment of both nations to enhancing bilateral relations across multiple sectors.
