Namal Rajapaksa Challenges Minister Wasantha Samarasinghe Over Allegations of Exam Malpractice

0

MP Namal Rajapaksa vowed to resign from his parliamentary position if it is proven that he wrote his law exams alone in an air-conditioned room, a claim made by Minister Wasantha Samarasinghe. However, if such allegations cannot be substantiated, Rajapaksa challenged that the individual who made these accusations, Wasantha Samarasinghe, should step down from his parliamentary seat.

This exchange took place in Parliament today (18) in response to Wasantha Samarasinghe’s questions about Rajapaksa’s legal qualifications yesterday (17). Namal Rajapaksa, MP for Sri Lanka Podujana Peramuna, pointed out that certain individuals, under the guise of parliamentary privileges, were making such allegations.

Responding to the challenge by Namal Rajapaksa, Minister Vasantha Samarasinghe claimed that he holds all the details regarding how the law exam was written, including a video that could prove his claim.

“The whole country knows that you wrote the law exam in an isolated room. The person you wrote the exam with, Tushara Wijayaratne, is the one who made the complaint. You need to come forward and disclose who else you wrote the exam with,” Wasantha Samarasinghe said in his response
