Donald Trump to Be Sworn in as the 47th President of the United States Today

Donald Trump is set to take the oath of office today (20th) as the 47th President of the United States. While presidential inaugurations are traditionally held outdoors in front of the Capitol Building in Washington, D.C., today’s ceremony will take place inside the Capitol’s Rotunda due to extreme cold weather conditions affecting the city, according to international media reports.

The last time an American presidential inauguration was held indoors was in 1985, during President Ronald Reagan’s second term.

Having secured a decisive victory in the presidential election last November, Trump is expected to take the oath of office with his hand on the Bible, administered by the Chief Justice. Following Trump’s swearing-in, J.D. Vance is set to be inaugurated as the Vice President.

This marks Trump’s return to the White House after previously serving as President from 2017 to 2021. Prior to the inauguration, Trump addressed a rally in Washington, D.C., where he spoke to his supporters about plans to sign a series of executive orders on his first day back in office, signaling a proactive start to his administration.

The event signifies a pivotal moment in U.S. politics, with global attention focused on the new administration’s first steps.
