The Public Utilities Commission of Sri Lanka (PUCSL) announced that the analysis of public feedback regarding the proposed electricity tariff revision will be completed today (17).
The public consultation process, which covered all nine provinces, began on December 17 last year and concluded on January 10. During this period, approximately 400 individuals submitted their proposals and recommendations.
The PUCSL revealed that many participants suggested a reduction in electricity tariffs by about 20%.
Following the review of all submitted proposals, the PUCSL will issue a report tomorrow (17) containing recommendations on whether an electricity tariff revision is necessary, and if so, the percentage by which tariffs should be adjusted.
The findings and recommendations in this report are expected to play a crucial role in determining the future course of electricity tariff adjustments in Sri Lanka.
