President appreciates the assistance extended by the International Lions Club

President Ranil Wickremesinghe acknowledged the support given by the International Lions Club to uplift the skills of the youth in Sri Lanka. He welcomed the Lions Club assistance in establishing the Vocational Training Centre in Biyagama, which would help to realize the President’s vision in making Sri Lanka a developed country by 2048 with the contribution of the youth to create a new economy for the future by utilizing their creative skills.

This was revealed at a discussion held between President Ranil Wickremesinghe and International President of the Lions Club International Lion Brian Edward Sheehan today (09) at the President’s Official Residence in Colombo.

President Wickremesinghe also expressed his gratitude for the Drug Prevention Programme which has been organized by the Lions Club with the participation of the youth to prevent the use of illegal drugs and reduce harmful use of alcohol among the youth.

Appreciating the President’s support towards the Lions Club’s activities in Sri Lanka, Lion Brian Sheehan thanked the President for his invaluable support for the forum, which will be held on December 11, to recruit 6,500 members to the Leo Club from Sri Lanka.
