Tensions within Sri Lanka’s ruling Podujana Peramuna (SLPP) continue to mount following a verbal clash between MP Jagath Kumara & Minister of Law-and-Order Sarath Weerasekara.

The TWO MP’s have locked horns over the transfer and appointment of the Padukka Police OIC.

MP Jagath Kumara states that Minister Sarath Weerasekara had confided with him that an acolyte of Minister Gamini Lokuge needs to be appointed as the OIC of the Padukka Police station, due to the behest of Lokuge himself.

However, following this revelation made to the media, a disgruntled Weerasekara said that he has informed his party, the SLPP to initiate action against fellow party member & MP Jagath Kumara.
