Concerns have been raised regarding a tender for the purchase of fitness and exercise equipment for a gymnasium at the Department of Sports Development which comes under the purview of the Ministry of Sports.
It is alleged that the two companies which had responded to the tender had submitted incomplete bids.
Moreover, the Ministry of Sports is reported to have given the green light to purchase equipment from the company that had submitted the highest bid.
Officials of the technical evaluation committee have protested against the move to award the tender to the company which had submitted the highest bid.
It is learned that one company had submitted a bid of Rs. 74 million while the other company had submitted a bid of Rs. 66 million.
